I am voting no because it pegs our spending levels to a benchmark level determined by other states and because their is no source of funding, unfunded mandates will destroy district finances and budgets, we should not be constitutionally required to spend money because another state spends more.

What a ridiculous proposition, Kansas raises their funding therefore we must also. Not because there is a need, just because another state did. Are these people so screwed up that they don't see how stupid the whole thing is?

I agree.
I decided to vote for a guy for d-27 and after getting 4 letters a day of negative ads I think I am changing my mind and voting for his opponent.

That's another way to decide who to vote for.
How many phone calls and letters do you suggest before I vote for somebody I don't believe he should be elected?

Vote NO!!

what in the world does what other states spend have to do with us in Oklahoma? For instance cost of living is completely different in say Denver VS OKC. which traditionally has the lowest cost of living for major metro in the nation. Tulsa is right behind at #2 lowest cost of living. yes the $$ goes further in OKC and Tulsa.

don't believe me... look up what a starter home costs in OKC/Tulsa vs say Denver, which could be 2x+ higher $$.

if the schools need more funds... put it to a vote of the people.

hate to point out the obvious ... look at where a major chunk of needed funds are going to. NEW construction for elementary schools.

look at the fastest growing sector for public education. children from illegal immigrants, which includes Anchor babies. Pregnant women smuggled into the US specifically to give birth. That anchor baby becomes an American citizen with ALL rights. including the right to an education in our public schools.

if you want to fix the problem of a lack of funding in our public schools. the fundamental issue of anchor babies which automatically become US citizens has to be resolved.

just to make sure there is NO misunderstanding.
I'm not against immigrants.... as 98%+ of everyone in America is either an immigrant and/or descendant of an immigrant.

I'm against illegal immigrants....

Excellent post:clap3:

Hey Nraman. You see at the bottom right of each post there are 3 buttons. They are a quote button, a multi quote button and a quick reply button.

I see you have the first one down pat.

The second we need to work on. As you go through a thread and you see several posts you want to quote, you click the middle button at the bottom right on each post and it will turn and stay orange on each. When you get to the last post you want to quote, you actually click the quote button. This will take you to the screen you expect, but instead of only one quoted post, it will have all of the posts you selected on multi-quote waiting for you to reply to each in one post. If you decide you don't want to quote a post that you have selected, you can click the middle button again and it will unselect it. It even works across multiple pages. You can select a couple on the every page if you want as long as you stay in the same thread.

The third button at the bottom right just jumps you down to the quick reply box at the bottom of the page without quoting any posts.

Good info! Actually, I wasn't planning to post any more but as I kept reading I felt the need.
Thanks.
