Wabbit invasion.

Anyone else notice a larger than normal rabbit population this year ?

We live in town on a cul-de-sac and up till this year we might see a rabbit hopping around once every couple of years or so but this year there are several in the neighborhood....looking at two in the back yard hopping around playing bunny tag and one in the neighbors front yard as I peck this.

We don't have a garden to worry about but I'm thinking it might be time to heat up the skillet.

I live rural and haven’t. But I did hear 3 owls this morning within a close proximity this morning. Suspect they might be why.

I have noticed a boom in rabbits out here where I live along with copperheads.

I'm out in the sticks, and we have a couple. It sounds crazy until you think about it, but critters like rabbits, possums, raccoons and armadillos are actually more abundant in town than out in the country, because of the food/garbage supply.

I’ve noticed this exact same thing all around my area. I know quail and some other ground birds have boom/bust cycles, I don’t know if that applies to small game though?

Yup have wild rabbits that come and go in my back yard. I buy the big pellets or rabbit food at Atwoods and leave it out during the day for them.

Welcome them. They may become a vital food supply.

I've got more rabbits than ever, I have coffee with them every morning, I'm also seeing fewer hawks.

My Kites came back again with their baby from last year....no crows around here, they get on em. Also I watched my guard bird come down about 10 ft from me and the fight was on with about a foot long snake. He snatched it up flew off back to their nesting tree.

Not so much around here this year, ours was two years ago followed by a bumper crop of squirrels last year. Still finding things those little btards chewed up on the outside of the house.
