A couple of years ago, we had a thread on here about using wax slugs and using shotgun primers as the primary propellant. I even modified some .223 rounds using shotgun primers that fired .22 cal pellets.

I've got some very old wax bullets that were used for gallery shooting. I believe 45 LC. When I was little I thought it was absolutely hilarious to shoot them on my grandmothers walls. I'm sure she wasn't as impressed as I was.
I've built a lot of .44 mag, and .38 special wax rounds using the shotgun primers.
I could shoot through aluminum signs. I'm not sure what guage they were. (these are signs at my house that I put out for trespass signs before anybody thinks they are state signs.)
Also used the speer plastic bullets that are designed to be used with primers only for indoor target practice. I wouldn't want to be hit with one.

That hot glue round is ridiculous!
I am probably preaching to the choir but ive seen a couple of vids that i cannot find where careless use of these rounds caused a kaboom. In both instances it was determined that while the round was chambered the barrel tipped downward the slug slid out of the hull and created a bore obstruction. One of the guns had the barrel split, but one of the guns cato'ed pretty spectacularly. Just a heads up for us enterprising types.
Back in the '90s I loaded wax into primed .38 Sp.l cases frequently. They are great for indoor practice.
These videos demonstrate using wax to create a binding agent for shot to form sort of a poor mans exploding slug. Some really amazing results...
Just have to be really careful about increasing the weight of your load. You don't want to create overpressures and cause an earth shattering ka-boom.
