Thanks for the recommendation! I’ll definitely give them a look. I’m enjoying my last KBS tonight. I guess that makes me “worse” than all the “druggies” that can have medically prescribed MJ. :)

If you're ever up in the OKC area or want to meet up, I will give you a couple of bottles to wet your appetite!

I picked up a single bottle of Bomb! per your suggestion. I’ll let ya know what I think of it after it’s been consumed. I’m glad I opted to have my “friday” beer on Thursday last week because I’m just now getting over some kind of flu that jumped on me Friday. Two straight days of fever up to 102 SUCKED!

I'm getting old!!! In eight days I turn 55(I get to ask for senior discounts at restaurants-drives my wife crazy) and this is the 1st......1st.....4th of July I won't be buying fireworks and shooting them.

I'll just sit under the shade tree with relatives "my" age or older BUT I'll have a few of these mixed up and in hand this 4th of July while my younger cousins shoot the fireworks. I'll enjoy my cocktails and watch the fireworks show.

The Old Fashion: Made exactly in the manner of this video. Nothing fancy, just a great cocktail....cheers:sunbath:

Sazerac are an awesome one also............if made the traditional way!!! Just like they make 'em at Vic and Anthony's/Golden Nugget/Vegas.

I make these at home and use Peychaud's Bitters!!!

Forgot to mention...I use Lucid Absinthe to coat the glass before making the Sazerac.

Can't say I've ever had one of those cocktails, but will say the true recipe calls for 2 oz of Rye. Around here in the casino's, their shot glasses are 3/4 oz and that is what you get in a drink. A double is 1 1/2 oz.
They used to call them airline bottles, but around here, they are casino bottles in one ounce containers available at every liquor store.
People smuggle them in to "enhance" the drink because casino drinks are pretty weak.

I dunno, man... I've tried a bunch of these. Manhattan, Old Fashioned, etc., the only thing I can think is, "This isn't as good as straight neat whiskey - why do people do this???" lol

The exception is a nice whiskey sour made with a good whiskey or rye and only with homemade sweet & sour mix made from real lemons and limes. And a dash of bitters.

Just can't find much reason to drink any of the other whiskey concoctions.
