OK, this may sound a bit "out there" but...
With some magazines, I like to spray paint at least the base plates to indicate the type of round that I have in the magazine.
I do this, especially, with my Uzi mags.
Light Blue is training ammo
Red is for +P or +P+ ammo
Purple is for subsonic.

I was looking at my AR mags the other day and wondering what color comes closest to the "green" on the "green tip".
I picked up a can of Rust-oleum gloss Meadow Green.

Close enough? or is there a better match?

Thanks

Dave

I say close enough.

I do the same with powder coat bullets.

Several tears back, I wanted / needed a 5 round .223 mag. Modified a 20 round and painted the bottom for quick identity.

Color doesn't matter, as long as you know the scheme.

I use green electrical tape around the bottom of my glock mags to identify the 40 cal mags, but it could be any color i just had gren handy when i done it and some of my other brand of mags in 40 i have done the same since the 40 mags matches other calibers for the same kind of guns.
