I was looking through emails this morning and
Advanced auto had one that read Want More Horsepower.
I clicked it and went to the page and it spoke of Supercharger and cold air intake.
Yea normal things and I scrolled and seen this picture and thought I know what that is.

In fact I removed those carbs and made an intake to mount a Carter AFB in place of them from some scrap steel I had in the back yard.
It worked better and got more MPG.

Looks like some kind of old dual carb straight engine kind of setup like an old Datsun 240z had.
Yes sir with the dual SU carbs.
I still (or my son) have that steel intake I made that bolted on where you unbolted the SU carbs.

I even welded up ribs in the bottom of the plenum to keep fuel from puddling in the floor of the plenum.

IIRC on the opposite side also. I was thinking that was the right side. The land of the rising sun was pretty good at copying but not quite exact, the old land cruiser engines were a pretty good copy of a chevy straight 6.
