Actually will say this, "The Outlaw Josey Wales" was the gateway for westerns for me. As for "Gran Torino" brought back many memories of my Grandfather and the city I grew up in. My Grandfather was far from being a racist, however I can remember my Grandfather talking to his cronies just like the barbershop scenes and the scene where he got "Toad" a construction job.

All the ones that involve guns . . .

Actually, he did do one back in the 80s, along with his Kyle, called Honytonk Man. the only "gunplay" in it was when he tried to rob a store with an empty shotgun. Then he gets a cop's revolver shoved up his nose, but that's all the guns in that one.
