I really like the HK P7. Flat, compact, slick-sided, no chance of inadvertent mag release under stress (with the heel release magazine latch), no chance of inadvertently engaging the slide lock lever under stress, or due to a less than optimum, stress-induced grip, accurate, and beyond reliable. The squeeze cocker is easy to use, and the dreaded "click" when you relax tension on the cocking lever audibly informs you that the pistol is now safe to reholster. It also has one of the sweetest trigger pulls on the planet.
