I have two rules when eating fish.

1. I'll only eat freshwater fish that either I caught or I knew who caught it.

2. Never order a saltwater fish unless you can see the water from the restaurant.

I buy shark and squid meat from the local Asian store and never had any issues.

Reminds me of Hong Kong, you could smell it form 1/2 mile out. At least that was the way it was back in the 60's when the Navy was showing me the world. I ate some strange stuff while there but survived.
