I have the exact Springfield you are talking about,plus I just yesterday picked up a 5 inch 45acp Tactical XD. Both are keepers imo.

I know a lot of people don't go with .357 Sig for various reasons, but it is what I went with at the time for self defense.

Having all three calibers isn't for everyone, but the OP mentioned getting a M&P in each caliber.

You can get the 40 cal. and get the 9mm barrel for it if you like those two calibers.

Regardless of which caliber one chooses, my favorite feature of the compact is being able to also set it up as a full size with the higher capacity magazine and X-grip.

I carry a G30, takes the same mags the local PD and FD carry

I also have the MP 40, with the convertables, HP will have some extra 357 sig if That time comes.
