I've driven throughout that part of Osage County and probably have been there without knowing it. The OERB has erased evidence of lots of the old oil installations in the state. I understand the desire of landowners for the clean-up but some history is sacrificed in the process. I learned a lot of history of the area back in the 70s when driving around some of the oil lease roads and the old oilfield camps like Webb City and Carter Nine.

Another naming story told about Whiz Bang is that it was named after a series of pulp magazines of the time, Captain Billy's WhizBang.
