After working in a factory for years and learning about manufacturing methods I can tell you that if a factory can't sell enough of one product to run that product year round they make plans to run that product part of the year. If the demand goes up across the entire product line they will run more hours and hire more people. They then are in a demand situation and all products are needed.

Even if they do change overs and still run all of their products they will tend to run the more profitable products more.

It is all about money. The prices will go up for all products and with the factories running full speed the unit cost will go down and the company will make more profit.

I would guess that the profit margin on 22 ammo is small and the ammo makers make more money on other calibres. That would be a reason for .22 shortages as they would run less .22 and more higher profit ammo.

After the evil ammo corporations are sure all the gunshop shelves across America are empty.
This summer all calibers will become suddenly available at 50-100% higher prices.
Its all a part of the plan to clear old ammo off store shelves and increase sales.
Afterall, the ammo companies don't make money on dead inventory thats been paid for and sitting on store shelves for years.

Because of a few reasons

1. 8 out of 10 people have .22 rifles and or pistols.

2. hoarders

3. flippers

One of those reasons would have gone into planning the output of .22 ammo for a manufacturer. Past sales amounts and trends would have. That would be number 1. There would have been no way to forecast the amount needed because of the other two.

An increase was most likely forecast because of the possibility of Obama's re election.

Planning production runs would not be completely based on customer needs.

Of course, I'm sure Miles and Cam are a part of the conspiracy, so who knows if you can trust them...:rubhands:
