Why are June Bugs always laying on their backs and wiggling around?

This guy was thrashing around with great energy, but just couldn’t get turned over. I helped him out, but I but it didn’t take long for him to get right back in this position.

Yep. My wife thinks armadillos are born on their backs with all four feet in the air.
