Can't argue one way or the other. Hers is the first Jeep in our family, so it's the only example I have in-depth experience with.
My daughter's 07' hasn't been bad, 223k miles, but I've put lots of hours and parts into in comparison to all our other vehicles combined. Anytime something goes wrong, there's already 800 how-to videos posted about how to fix it, so that's a plus lol.

My son bought a 4 door newer one and it has a V6 Diesel engine in it.
I modified an 8 foot disc that was supposed to be pulled behind a tractor.

You can now hook it to a trailer hitch and he gave the jeep a workout plowing a shooting lane 400 yards long and pulling a 5.5 foot tall tractor tire laid on it's side behind it to flatten the dirt.

Go test drive a Tesla!!! Energy is cheap.
My son has one. While I never thought I would say this, they are really great cars. Back in the 80s my brother has a Chevelle with a 454 and all the upgrades high schoolers used to do to their cars.

I bet a dollar to a donut my son’s Tesla is faster than my brothers old Chevy.

I had never driven one or ever been in one. I went downtown and test drove one and when I got back, I ordered one! They were offering 0% for 60 months and I got the $7,500 rebate that went towards the down payment! The sales people, or Tesla associates, were awesome... no sales pressure or warranty pressure.
I can charge to 80% at home for less than $4. That gives me over 200 miles. AND YES, they are faster than, pretty much, anything on the road.... STOCK. I got the performance model because, why not, LOL.

Yea an electric motor makes a lot of torque and power but also uses a lot of energy to get it there.
I would not mind having an electric vehicle.

But it would not work for what I do.
Not enough capacity yet for me in the electric car arena.

If you all are curious, we went out yesterday afternoon to “just look at Jeeps” (her words). I am sure you know how that ended up.

We pick it up tomorrow or Thursday, depending on the weather.

Come on, buy it on the nastiest day possible and add that to the first Jeep memory! What did she get?

I saw a newer Jeep 4 door wrangler on the service rack when I had my pickup in for work recently.
I asked the mechanic about the Jeep as I used to own a 1998 XJ Cherokee. He showed me some really poorly worn suspension parts. He said the geometry of the newer Wranglers was poorly designed and components made from weak materials. It was a $3500 front ènd replacement nightmare. Low quality steel in shock mounts had bent and also upper control arm was bent. This had caused a brake line to get kinked and the whoĺe section of brake line had to be replaced. He said it was an alignment nightmare to work on

I had a 1976 jeep with a buick V6 in it CJ5 and I crawled under it and seen the thin metal holding the steering box on and thought WTF and sold it 2 days later.

I got it from a buddy that sold it to me for 600 bucks.

Not something I would trust as I like thicker metal holding my stuff together.
Maybe it was fine but it looked like weak snot to me.

I have not been under a newer one.
