I havent played with any savages except the hmr version. I, like you...prefer the marlin in small caliber form. I do prefer my 30-30 in Win though. I've got an marlin 30-30 that is down right ready for hogs, just need a donor.

That's a great collection you have!

I taught myself to shoot with one of these when I was a youngster. It is pretty much your basic tube feed semi auto .22. The sights are crappy buckhorns that adjust with a hammer and drift, just like a Marlin 60. There is nothing particularly valuable about them... a fair price would be about the same as any other old used tube feed... somewhere around $100-150.

I am actually looking for one myself to use as a parts gun to fix my Dad's old one up with for a Father's Day present.
