Sounds like ArcNet.LAN = Local Area Network
We had 3 computers on a LAN for several years, using BNC cables & null terminators instead of a router.
It's the new stuff that escapes me.
LAN also gets you away from the internet for internal security of control systems.Sounds like ArcNet.
As far as I know it's obsolete now except curiously, it still exists in the containment buildings of nuclear reactors because it less susceptible to noise from radiation than Ethernet.
