ORLANDO, Fla. - George Zimmerman was shot a short time ago.

WESH-TV in Orlando reports Zimmerman ‘suffered a minor gunshot wound’ in Lake Mary, Florida.

There are reports Zimmerman was shot through a car window.

Zimmerman was acquitted in the shooting and death of Trayvon Martin in 2013.

Since his acquittal, Zimmerman has been involved in several incidents.

Channel 9 has learned that George Zimmerman was involved in a shooting incident Monday in Seminole County on Lake Mary Boulevard.

Authorities said Zimmerman was shot in the face during a confrontation with a driver. They said the injury appears to be minor.
