When I have questions, I turn to the gospel of Romero.
It says any amount will kill you in time, depending on proximity to the heart and on vitality/health of victim. 2 days seems to be the longest according to the prophet, but as in walking dead everyone that dies will turn.

Even Romero did not stay completely true to form. He directed 5 or 6 "Zombie" type films. The way the disease is passes if different in some.

I am speaking totally out of turn. My wife is the authority on this.

I'll agree, George Romero is the undisputed king of Zombie but if we are realistic and zombieitis were to happen it would almost definitely be viral and probably airborne but even if spread by blood only the whole fear of zombies comes from the masses. Avoiding the mass hordes of zombies is far more difficult than it seems on the surface, even tested and stamped "confirmed".

Hummm.... was more thinking along the lines of this quote:

“The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money.”

One thing that is rarely detailed in the Zombie fiction is what the initial government response would be to a zombie outbreak.

Would they cordon off and quarantine the area of initial outbreak? Send in troops to extract non-bitten civilians and/or search and destroy missions?

Of course, I know that a lot would depend on the pathology of the zombie virus. If it were as fast acting as it was in the WW Z movie, that would present a completely different scenario. For our purposes, assume it's more of a Walking Dead/Night of the Living Dead virus. You get bitten or killed and then you turn, but it takes some time.

How do you envision a government response? (Other than the standard "Effed up, like everything they do." Spare us that please. This is a SERIOUS (:wink2:) zombie thread.

Watch the movie "Outbreak" with Dustin Hoffman.
Read the book "The Jakarta Pandemic"

I think both of those would give a fair estimate of what the government response would be.
