Why the hell do dorms have fire drills? (Angry rant ahead)

Seriously? Do they expect people to ****ing lose all sense of purpose during an actual fire? I don't understand. "Thank you masters, I had no idea what to do in a fire, no one has told me after 20 ****ing years"

I'm mad.

On another note, my dorm is an older building with no elevator, it is not a handicapped accessible building, so why in the blue hell are there handicapped parking spaces by it? They are always empty!

How dare they try to make sure people are safe in the event of a fire! Facists! Just because you know what's up doesn't mean everyone else does, also fire alarms have to be tested periodically anyway, might as well get a drill out of it.

You say that now but I promise you have no idea how you would act if you were really in a fire. There was a fire in my dorm my 2nd year of college. It was a Co-Ed dorm and things got pretty crazy trying to get everyone out. Until you get woke up at 3 am and the halls are full of smoke you have no idea how you will react.

Second, I don't expect people at the top to cater to me, so why should I cater to people that don't pay attention in kindergarten?

Wait until some jackazz decides to pull the alarm at 3:00am!!! We had a guy in my dorms doing that and the local police made a visit to him. After that visit, for some reason it was pretty quiet!!!

Lets see you have to get 300 is people out of a high rise building in just a few minutes using the stairwells. There has to be a fire drill each semester in the dorms.

As much as dorm drills suck, imagine doing it at 4am from the 9th floor! As stupid as they are they will come in handy if something does happen. Imagine the crazy people from black friday only college students fleeing for their lives.
