Its not about the money.
Its not about jealousy that he has it and I don't either.
Not many people own FA weapons because they're hard to find and extremely expensive and require red tape. SO:

1) Our 2A rights are infringed upon by the federal government requiring too much hassle and prohibiting certain serial numbers from being converted. And everyone saying that "you can still get one" is overlooking the fact the Feds are still infringing upon my right to bear arms equal to that of the military. Instead the civilian police force is allowed military weapons while I am essentially denied them. How many firearm owners do you know that have FA weapons?

2) Granted that some SWAT teams or tactical response teams might need M4s, is it still not a little bit disturbing we have basically paramilitary police forces using militarized vehicles, camo, and military weapons?

3) Having to ask the permission of the .gov to purchase or bear any firearm, no matter its qualities or abilities, is a direct infringement upon the 2A.

I agree with you 3inslugger. MG's have been highly regulated for some time and they should not be. First the NFA of 1934 added the transfer tax (which was very high at the time), the GCA of 1968 prohibited foreign MG's for civilians and the FOPA of 1986 prohibited domestic MG's for civilians. All of this is why they are so high today. Some folks may say you can still by them (which is true), but you can't buy anything that is newly manufactured, so in effect they are prohibited. I own a couple of MG's and know of about a dozen other members of this site that do too. I bought mine 22 years ago when they were still reasonably priced, but there is no way I would shell out what they want for them today. They should be as avaialble as any other weapon. Just my humble opinion, YMMV.

OK.....I see I ruffled some feathers. I put FULL AUTO so people would open the post. I just wanted everyone to see I'm a sexy ***** in my mulitcams.....:hey3::hey3:.

Honestly I could care less if it is full auto. I carried them in the military. Semi is more practical for MOST occasions. I don't see us retrograding under machine gun fire, but neither did the officers in the Hollywood shootout. I just want you all to look at my gear. I've ALWAYS wanted to be on a SWAT team. Our PD revamped things and started a multi-jurisdictional team with a few other cities. I finally got the opportunity to try out and made it. I'm super excited. Great training, great group of officer's on the team.

Sir, I have no problem what so ever with you being issued a full-auto weapon. I think you should out-gun the bad guys so you can come home safely to your family at night. I think that the only problem folks have is that we civilians should able to get them too without such a prohibitive cost and new MG unavailabliity.
