If you're fighting a foriegn power, you're not fighting a revolution. I think we would all fight the Chinese invaders, but that has nothing to do with revolution.

My point in my posts have been that no matter who you are, and no matter what the location of the fight, the blanket statement that JB made about fat guys can't win is bull crap.

The US military has been tested many times and have won despite the rules of engagement that the civilians continue to impose on the fighting man.

If there is ever to be a revolution in the US, it will be in the ballot box and not on the firing line.

Dennis,

Of course if a "foreign military unit" invaded Tulsa, I'd do my best to resist, whether that was resisting actively (trying to kill the invaders) or by turning over my considerable stockpile over to those of you who are better able.

You missed my point.

I didn't miss any point.

I see what you mean. I'm lean and muscular in my old age, and if the Chinese squeeze themselves onto a really big boat and find thier way to Ignorant Bend, you can bet your ass I'll hurt their feelings.

So what will it be? I'm hoping #1. That's the "fight" I'm hoping for. Politics has always been cyclical in our country but I don't think we've ever seen the crazy mess we're seeing now. I have faith we can hang in there and turn it around with our vote. Common sense usually prevails even if there's forces fighting against it. Just gonna take time.

Well, we did have that whole civil war mess back in the 19th century. I would say that it has been substantially worse than now before.

You could never muster the same resolve to fight American cops and soldiers, that you could gather against an outside power.

I think you guys are approaching this all wrong. If the rebellion or resistance or whatever you want to call it becomes the aggressor, it will end quickly and be very unpopular. However, if the resistance stood behind the constitution with non compliance to unconstitutional laws and make the govt. be the aggressor, public opinion would be more likely on your side. All it will take is martyrs for the cause. Any takers?

Nice comparison, but no cigar. Those folks are highly motivated and have support from many elements of the general population.

Do you really think groups of mostly out of shape (usually obese) middle-aged men will be able to handle trained troops, no matter what tricked-out AR-15 they own and no matter what training they had in the 70s? If you do, I'd like you to cash a check drawn on a Nigerian bank.

Do you really think that our self-absorbed, weak-willed, comfort seeking populace won't sell out every self-styled patriot for a flat screen TV or cash to blow at the nearest casino?

I'll put the whole statement that I quoted just so nobody gets me wrong.
