That sucks man. Sounds like maybe bullet setback. These days we have to check even factory ammo. I was just loading some .45ACP yesterday using mixed cases and I could tell a distinct difference in bullet tension on Remington cases, in this case lack thereof compared to the others. Armscor is reman isn't it?

Were u able to find the case head? I'd definitely try find out which ammo did it.

Unfortunately, I looked but couldn't find the case.

The only other thing I can think of is a bore obstruction. Can you look down the barrel now?

The case is stuck in my barrel but I can see down it.

The rounds in this pic. What are they? Because the bullets look to be pretty deep. Maybe not, but from the pics and the PMC Bronze I have on hand they look deep.

That one is set too far back but it wasn't like that when I loaded it. It was probably right below the one that exploded.

I think I'd get that round out of the barrel.

Before you do, drop a dowel down the barrel and see where it stops, mark the dowel then pull it out and lay it next to the barrel and see if you have a barrel obstruction.

then use a brass rod and pound that round out and examine the bullet and brass.

It''s either a barrel obstruction, double-charged round or an out of battery discharge.

It's only part of the brass. I look down the barrel and see all the way through it.

It was an obvious over pressure. Just use the process of elimination to figure it out.

1) If the barrel is not split, cracked or bulged it wasn't an obstructed bore.

2) Since you cant double charge a .223 case with appropriate powders that wasn't it. That doesn't mean that the wrong powder wasn't used though. I saw pics of a billet upper that grenaded just like that due to HS6 powder getting mixed with his BLC2. (they look similar)

3) If it's not an obstruction, or powder snafu that pretty much leaves you with bullet setback or OOB. Did the round chamber normally? Did you use the FA to chamber it? Have you shot any of that batch of ammo before? I'm still thinking bullet setback upon chambering that round.
