I think that would preclude us from speaking authoritatively about the contents until the order is released.

I've been going off of the published opinions of the commissioners.

Only because you fixed the violation at 611pm...then posted this at 621. But OKS was in violation.

No, we weren't. You have no clue what you are talking about. You really shouldn't throw around false accusations.

When it comes to user generated content, a website is only in violation if they do not act in a reasonably prompt manner after receiving a properly formatted take down notice. No notice has been received.

Science-LiveThe internet is safe! We are a group of a few Net Neutrality Advocacy orgs that have worked tirelessly to ask for strong open internet rules. Yesterday that happened, so A(u)MA!

About Us:

Reddit, you never cease to amaze. Thank you for participating in this and contributing some great questions. At 4:50 we officially have to say goodbye. If you any question or want to learn more, go to any of the links below and check out their websites. Also, if you are wondering what comes next to a look at this recent post.

After countless petitions, meetings and even redecorating the FCC grounds with cats, the FCC finally voted for strong Net Neutrality rules! We could not be more thrilled but we also know its exciting but confusing, so we want to clear up anything we can.

The organizations in this AMA are:

Public Knowledge https://www.publicknowledge.org/

Free Press - http://www.freepress.net/

Spitfire Strategies - http://www.spitfirestrategies.com/

Fight for the Future - www.fightforthefuture.org

Common Cause - http://www.commoncause.org

Demand Progress -https://demandprogress.org/

We each have our own strengths from grassroots to policy, so go ahead ask us anything!

We Do Exist!: (http://imgur.com/a/Amvai?)

Have you read the 322 or so pages of this new policy? Has anybody? I've seen people on reddit and social media saying that they voted on it without making it public. How can anybody be certain about what's in it if we haven't been given the chance to read it?

The FCC rules of transparency have been in place for years under the Administrative Procedures Act. The important thing is that the FCC asks for comments etc is so that it can create an order that reflects the argument in the public comments. If the FCC had to release it's rules for public comment every time there is an edit or a change they would never have rules. PK/Brynne

Oh....that list of leftist groups really gives me a warm fuzzy. The comment downplaying the total takeover of what is arguably one of the most important aspects of modern society by saying "If the FCC had to release it's rules for public comment every time there is an edit or a change they would never have rules" is absolutely asinine. The left, and some in the right, have been clamoring for a very long time about using the FCC to squash the freedoms found in the internet. I suspect they have found their way now.

Yes, the leftists convinced Verizon to pursue the FCC in federal court.
Not for naked profit though, it's cause the leftists don't like the FCC telling Version "how to do their business".

If you were forced to run a business under the provisions that the government imposed on the telecoms you wouldn't like it either. And it is a big reason why most went bankrupt within a decade or so of being split off.

Please excuse some well run companies for making a buck or two for their investors. Also, don't forget that these corporate thieves are creating hundreds of thousands of good paying middle class jobs while stealing your government checks. Both of those articles are cherry picking numbers to make the argument that everyone 'has the right' to speeds as fast as possible for not much of nothing in return. The facts of life in a business enterprise as large and complex as telecoms is that some business units actually carry other less profitable business units. If they didn't your life would be extremely different right now and that I can promise you.

Verizon approves this message. ∆∆∆

Now, if only they hadn't screwed the pooch by suing for the right to throttle and block internet access .....

For some reason you seem to be fixated on Verizon - why? And why do you think them suing the FCC was to allow them to throttle their traffic? Can't it simply be just to keep the camels nose out of the tent with ever creeping regulations? Why in the world would any company these days with the choices available to the consumer want to purposely piss off their customers?
