Congrats to you and your daughter! I'm in the blind with my 8 yr old boy now.

I'm in the blind now also, with my daughter's best friend. They have been best friends since they met at daycare when they were 18 months old. She is like my other daughter and since she has no father in her life, I'm the closest thing to a dad that she's got. Been trying really hard to get her on her first deer, but things just aren't looking good for us.

Wish you all the best of luck! Good for you!

Well I revisited this post and thought I would provide a follow up, my boy didn't get s deer but he can dang sure shoot! This is his target at 25, 35, 50, 65 and 80 yards, I think that's right, but either way he would have killed a deer with any of these shots. Proud dad ImageUploadedByTapatalk1452139316.018503.jpg

dennis and okie how did the rice bran work out for ya'll

I had a couple of coons and a possum work on mine just about every night. Took a couple of days before they took to it. Threw a couple handfuls of corn in it for a jump start. At $14 a bag vs $6 a bushel for bulk corn, ill probably stick with corn in the future unless a deal comes through on the bran.

I haven't got squat this season. Let a couple walk early, lost one, missed another. GRRRR
This weekend is my last chance. I'll be out Friday evening through sun morning.
Good strong north winds on sat and sun should be great!

atwoods $7

The Atwoods here keeps a lot of their feed outside under a lean to roof. The last time I was there, I searched for about 20 minutes for a dry bag of rice bran, opened one and it was big chunks of moldy feed, opened another and the same, opened another and the same, and again until I had opened every bag that I had purchased. I took them all back with the reciept and demanded a refund. I opened every bag, hoping they wouldn't just put them back on the rack.

They had pallet after pallet of various feeds exposed to the weather elements, many had snow/ice still on them. The thin plastic that they wrap pallets with doesn't deter moisture. I would venture a guess over $8,000 worth of feed products were compromised by moisture.
