This is kind of the problem with nation building. We did everything for those people to earn them personal freedom and a democracy to elect their rulers. But the problem is that unless you earn those rights yourself, they don't seem as important as they should. The Iraqis should have stepped up and made themselves a strong nation, given the push we gave them. It seems, though, that their Islamic culture and belief system makes them more comfortable being ruled and dominated by someone.

I feel for those people, but no more nation building. I mourn for the American lives lost removing their despots and home-grown terrorists. I'd like to think we're done over there, but they build great terrorists over there and they just won't leave us alone.

We will be back over there within 10 years fighting most of the mid-east in a world war mainly led by Iran and it's satellite countries. We will lose hundreds of thousands dead.

OK, Ronny, if we're gonna clean up their mess, let's put the bill on them this time.

I would certainly agree with that. Last time, we put them on their feet and they made a deal with China for their oil. B.S.

However, I'm not even saying we should bail them out. I'm saying we can't say no and expect that the result will be a good one for us.

Assume we stay out. If Iran gets fully involved, they have the horses to drive ISIS completely out and, in fact, might catch them in a pincer move with Syria. ISIS holds much of N.W. Syria. You could easily wind up with an Iranian "empire" involving Iran, Iraq, Syria and, maybe, Afghanistan. Now, give them the bomb (which they may already have) and Israel can kiss it's ass goodbye, unless God says "enough is enough".

You can dream up a hundred scenarios, but the point is it's never as simple as "let them stew in their own juice".

This is a very complex game of chess. I suck at chess but I say we need to get a check mate before they do...somehow.
