It all depends on the user. How much you are willing to spend, services provided, quality of services provided, all that mumbojumbo. I have found that Dish seems to have better prices for content. I have also used streaming over the net. Since I don't really watch much live TV(other than news). As soon as my dish contract is up I am going back to online streaming.

Did it stay off? Poor alignment, wind, trees, etc. I'd suspect their installer did a quickie-job.
It was out for a couple of minutes. Trees aren't an issue (it's a hay farm, so there aren't many trees at all, and none in the dish's line of sight), and it wasn't overly windy, either. Dunno what the deal was.

unfortunately, operation of these types of devices are only as good as the installation. My bet is the dish was not aligned properly.

that is reason # 2, I vow to never have satellite, reason # 1 is the snow/rain/clouds issue.

too bad Cox has monopolized the cable side of things...can't stand them, but I'll be damned I never lose the cable signal and have strong internet (tier 2)....of course I am very cable poor!
