Well done, sir. Motorcycles from the 70s have real character and were beautiful, as your is now. My first motorcycle was a new 1973 Yamaha AT3 enduro (125cc). Rode that thing everywhere! It was my key to freedom.

May you ride many miles on that beautiful machine!

She's finished and running like a top. It's been a 5 year project that odds were I'd never see her done or that she would never rise from the dead. I really think this and working on my guns have kept be alive and kicking. Doctors can't seem to figure out why I'm still on the right side of dirt so it has to be something.
This was hard as I had to teach myself every single thing on the bike. The paint I had to have a top shelf pro do, but the rest was mine. Oddly I feel a bit sad it's done. I'll get over that.
I rode it a bit today (no tag yet) and had 3 people offer to buy it. NOPE. This is mine. I put my heart and soul into it and about 20 gallons of sweat and blood. It's mine.
Here's the last pics I'll put up on this subjectView attachment 384961View attachment 384962

That is gorgeous

Had a 71 CB450. It was a monster back in the day. Now, still be a cool ride.

Great job! Got the bug, again, recently and now have Honda Shadow Phantom sitting in the garage. Your never too old.
JRR: I going to say this. I love the Shadows. I did the Harley thing for years util I figure out Harley is just a name. Honda was making twice the bike at half the price. Also, about shadows. I had one and I kept hearing. "Oh those are nice starter bikes". What the heck. Folks, I'm not sure what a starter bike is. I've had a few and unless their talking about a bike with training wheels I don't know what the heck they're talking about.
The Shadow is super great bike. Runs great, lots of power. Great suspension. It's not a crotch rocket but who the hell enjoys riding those? Some folks lie and say they like them but I'm not sure that's right. A shadow takes me back to what Harleys were suppose to be but never were. You can add a ton of stuff on them or take them right out of the factory delivered. That are great bikes regardless if you've been riding since you were 7 years old.
Love to see picks of yours. I'm thinking of picking up a shadow 750 used but low miles and just a few years old. The Phantom is a beast. Those things look great. Super cool ride with the seat position very comfortable.
Well done

My Honda experience goes back a bit further. I bought a 1969 Honda CL350 with the higher tailpipe system. That model was referred to as the Scrambler where those with the lower tailpipes on each side were referred to as the "road bikes."

Absolutely beautiful. Back in the 70's I'd see every brand of bike everywhere. Those bikes made in the late 60's and 70's had something special about them. From the middle of the War in Nam to peace, these bikes were a sign of the times. Hope, peace and freedom. That's what these bikes meant to us then and those of us left, now too
