Note that HB2522 has several important things going for it:

  • Open carry with license. Changes existing concealed weapon license into a handgun license (open or concealed).
  • Open carry on private property (1289.6).
  • Ability to store/transport ammunition in vehicle on private property (1289.7a).
  • Protection from disorderly conduct for open carrying (1289.24).
  • Defines unconcealed handgun. Must be in holster, etc. (1290.2).
  • Must display handgun license on demand of police officer (1290.8).
  • No mandatory notification to police unless specifically asked (1290.8).
  • Police may not disarm or restrain individual openly carrying without suspicion of criminal activity (1290.8).
  • Reduced penalty for not notifying police officer of handgun(1290.8).

Please note that this is my own personal synopsis and is subject to error. Please read the bill for yourself.
If you look at the bill, be sure to open the current version by selecting:
Amendments -> Committee Amendment

Also here is some more information from OK2A.ORG

Yes she is, and we all know what she has done for (to) us in the past. However,
she is in very poor health, and is not expected to chair the committee meeting
tomorrow.

Please visit http://www.ok2a.org . You can find links to the bills, and names
of your state representatives and senators to contact to voice your support
for these measures.

Phone calls count!

Sent an email to my Rep asking him to support these measures. When everyone is writting and you feel this way, let them know you will be using how they support these measures to determine if you will vote for them again. If enough people write them urging their support and let them know their support will help determine who you vote for, they might be more obliged to listen to you. If you do so, please do it respectfully.
