Went this evening..............this is going down as probably THE worst waterfowl season ever for us.

Went this evening..............this is going down as probably THE worst waterfowl season ever for us.

I'm 60 miles east, and we have no waterfowl here either to speak of. I live on a ridge overlooking the Arkansas river valley. Normally the fields are covered in geese with flocks flying back and forth. This year, a few small groups is all that is seen. The kaw lake report has been pretty dismal too. The motels are usually full of guides and hunters. Not so many this year.

I hope so, we're 72 ducks behind where we were last year on this date.

I never would have guessed, but on the hunts I've been on this year they are 3 birds ahead of the same point last year. 269 vs 266.

Show off...........lol Those numbers geese primarily Porter? There seems to be a few less geese too, but not like the ducks. Going to have to take up goose hunting I suppose........

Found a few this yesterday evening, went back this morning only to find 100's of dove.

Dove? Ain't it about 30 degrees too cold for them? lol

You'd think, but they're everywhere......mourning and euro. Season closed Sunday.
