Well I shot my biggest buck tonight. Unfortunately I hit him high with no blood to be found. Arrow passed through and had fat and hair on it but no blood. So frustrated. The buck came in grunting and chasing a doe.

I'll bet that made you sick feeling. Never good to lose one but doesn't sound like a fatal hit. You might get another chance.

Well I shot the buck my grandson called freak I shot he run off with his tail in the air I thought we’ll just my luck went to reload put powder in and realized I left the bullets in the truck I said yep just my luck might as well go make sure I didn’t hit him no blood anywhere went to where I seen him go over the hill and there he laid not sure about these SST’s I’m shooting and no blood trail

I've had real good luck with hornady XTP's in my sabots. I use 44 cal 240gr.
After reading the magnum loads ya'll are using , I've never used more than 90 grains pyrodex. usually 80 grains and I've had pass though at 100 yards with that load. My old percussion ml I used 70 grains pistol pyrodex and 480 gr maxi balls.

Went out yesterday afternoon and saw 7 doe . . . no real mature bucks on camera lately.

Ain’t this some crap! No bucks moved in the daylight all youth weekend, but first thing Monday morning both shooter bucks are at the feeder at the same time IN THE DAYLIGHT.

Saw 3 mule deer bucks at Beaver River WMA, all well out of range and on the move early in the morning. 10 or more mule deer does and no whitetails in the area I was hunting.

Many whitetail on my family's land in the panhandle, it's hard to get a shot under 250 out there and I just can't bring myself to try that with a muzzleloader. I hope to check back in with some success photos during rifle season.
