Well, my daughters and I got shutout so far. None of us will be able to hunt again until the last weekend. My college daughter won’t be able to go then so this will be her first season in years that she hasn’t taken a deer. She saw this coyote on Monday evening. I saw it on Tuesday evening from about 700 yds out. Then Wednesday morning, I was sitting on the ground watching two small bucks to my left. When they slipped into the woods, I turned to my right to see this guy sitting 50 yds out, facing away from me. I shouldered for a left handed shot just as he turned to face me. The suppressed 308 flattened him. I texted my daughter to tell her I shot him, then looked back to my left to see the two bucks had come back out, assumably to see what was going on. I am fortunate in that I have a low coyote population. I might catch 3 a year on camera. Now one less.
