We did pretty good this year. During Youth Rifle we got to watch 2 spikes wrestle around. They didn't realize the loser was dinner. I got lucky and braved the rain one day during rifle and kicked up this little 9 point while he was chasing tail. We also got 3 yotes, 2 pigs while we were at it. Great season all things said :)

No deer for me this weekend, lots rain yesterday evening, will be pure slop impassable roads. There's going to be pheasant hunters stuck in the ditches by the dozens this morning lol. They'll be all out of towners too, the locals know better than to try it.
Judging by what had started before I left with the snow melt and current camera activity after the rain, my place is a muddy mess, and the pumper and deer leasers that use my easement roads have no problem tearing them up when they’re wet.
When the oil company had the low water crossing built on my place a couple years ago, I encouraged them to spread a some rock in 4 ”holes” on the north easement road, but since the construction engineer had never and probably will never see the place again, he assured me it wasn’t needed. The pumper now has trails swerving out into the land owner’s pasture to get around every one of those wet spots after it rains. I’ve only been driving that road for twenty years what the heck do I know. :rolleyes2
