Ok everybody I've spent a few hours of worthless searching boards for answers. Does any one have/ shoot a K hornet. I'm looking at a regular hornet now an was considering going on out. I know you get more vel plus better case life but how much and is it worth it? I've no qualms about cutting a barrel just wondering if it's worth the work

webbers falls,ok.
Hey Iceman755, I would say the main advantage to the K Hornet is that you don't have to trim the brass if you use a neck size die. I use regular Hornet reloading data to load the K Hornet and get good accuracy and case life. Accurate 1680 has been the best powder for my rifle.

So you still load standard hornet loads in the khornet ive heard that neck sizings the only way to go with that round. Is it just so thin to start with?

In my opinion it is definitely worth the work. I load and shoot both Hornet and K-Hornet. Just sold my Hornet and now only have the K.

There are two reasons I feel it is worth it. The first is the extended life of the brass. I have had Hornet brass split a lot and I have yet to have a K split. Secondly, you can easily gain a 100 fps in velocity with the K. Lil'Gun is by far the best powder I have found for Hornets. Mine will shoot sub MOA. It has killed several coyotes and hogs. My son killed a 350-lb boar with a shot in the ear.
