I went out to shoot a couple weeks ago and figured I would give the 22 mag and 22 a try from 300 yards. Ive only tried this once before with my 22 mag about a month ago, but it was on a windy day. This day it was very calm out, so I thought Id try it out again. Not the best shootin, but I was pleased for my 2nd time out at this distance with the 22 mag. Neither gun has been cleaned in a while either, so Im sure that doesnt help things, lol. Well anyway, it was a fun challenge and I was surprised at just how much the 22lr dropped at that distance. Oh and both guns just have cheap 4x scopes on them.

very cool. did you adjust the scope on the 22lr or just hold over? i saw where the OKCGC is doing some 200 yard 22 matches, looks like a lot of fun. anyone interested should check out the calender on the site or it might be posted in the newsletter, "the primer" on the site

nope didnt adjust the scope any. i dont think there would be enough adjustment on the scope for that much drop. i was just holding over and aiming at the top of those hills where the windmills are. it was about twice as much drop as the 22 mag.

We will be having 200 yard rimfire matches at the Ponca range in the future. We are in the completion stages of our new 300 yard range. I'm anxious to get out like thaHooligan and shoot at some yardage with the .22. Nice video!

thanks man!

Im hoping the wind isnt to bad this weekend. Id like to go out and try it a little more, its pretty fun lobbing them in there like that.

Who else doesn't practice at range with their 22. I can consistently hit a torso sized plate at 100 yards with my mark3. It's all in the practice and the hold!! Good job hooli

Tri-City Gun Club in Goldsby is right across the river from Norman, and they have a 200 yard rifle range. You need a membership to shoot there. I go as a guest and teach classes there sometimes... whacking the 10" gongs with my iron sighted 452 almost gets boring from prone and seated... doing it from standing or kneeling is a fun challenge though! I have taken the 452 out to 300 yards, and it will keep them on a head-sized target with regularity once you figure out the holdover.
