Please make sure that you don't use it for breathing air otherwise you'll probably die.
I am not going to use the compressor for breathing air. There is a specific mil-spec food grade lubrication oil used for the machine to be safe for breathing. Also additional filtration can be attached and is recommended by places the refurb and sell these.

We have 4500 psi cylinders for breathing air in SCBA.
From what I've read this machine produces 3500 psi with the original engine, which appears to be a lightweight, disposable Continental. Honda 5hp replacements bump up the output to 4000+.

I have an old fiberglass SCBA tank that has a manf. date of 1992, but it's only rated at 2500. I do not intend to use it, it was in my attic from my FF days. The 4500 psi tanks have a life span of 15 years I believe with regular pressure testing. There is a certified company that re-wraps the bottle for an extra 5 years.

Interesting fact about the compressor. It uses jet engine oil as a lubricant. Never knew jet engine oil was a thing.

And this quart of oil only set me back $29.51. 😯

I've seen empty quart cans of this selling on ebay for that much.

Forget the oil... I didn't even know there was such a thing as synthetic jet engines....

One think to keep in mind is that when this tanks are refill they are inside a metal cage, just in case the tank fails. You really don't want to be around one of this tank if fails. Another thing is check the hydrostatic date of the tank. BE SAFE.
