Thing is, these people are trusted to shape their little minds. While I have been suggesting an alternative, if I didn't trust my kid's teachers tp protect them, I wouldn't trust them to fill their minds either. That's why some people choose to home school though. I do respect your stance, Whitey. Those are just my thoughts on it. It's also kind of hypocritical if we were to say WE all have a right to bear arms, except you, and you, and here, and here...

I disagree. Its the parents job to make sure they know what their kid is learning. You should never, as a responsible parent, trust what someone else is teaching your kid.

Thus is also not about 2A.My discomfort with them being armed around my child is not an infringement on their rights. Just like my company's no weapon policy is not an infringement upon my rights.

But why do you have to know if they are armed? Are you sure your child has never been around someone you didn't know was armed without your supervision?

I have emailed the Govenor regarding having school personel that are armed, this would at least give them a fighting chance when a whacko shows up at the school. Having a small child Id rather the principal, several teachers, the janitor......have a chance to save my child from this kind of person than for our schools to sit with no protection.

OK. You are trusting them with the safety and well being of the kid for 6 hours every day, but I hear you. Your discomfort is not an infringement. A state or federal ban on carry (or any licensing fee) is. We rail against this every day. We disagree on this, and that's fine. Good talk.

I am not for a ban. I am not for schools to be unprotected. I am for the right person for the job.
