Sorry you have to deal with that. I say you treat him like a Polliwog and make him run the gauntlet. Get a shillelagh and a fire hose (with sea water thank you very much) and see how he does. I say some rotten trash, grease and a cherry should do the trick.

Sucks that you have to deal with people like that. You'd think that competition would drive you to become more focused on what you can do better,... not trash the competition.

From a fellow shipmate from the 7th Fleet, let us know if we need to round up a group for a blanket party. Haha,.. wow,.. seems forever ago.

And yes,.. most of our stories are true.

Good luck!

HT2,
The New Navy does not allow shalaylee use anymore not like when I got beat by one crossing the line on The USS Blue Ridge LCC-19 in 1989 when I was a DC3 on there. What great memorys of those days.

Oh yes, I'm aware of the "PC" ceremonies that are conducted now.

Good to see a fellow 7th Fleeter in Oklahoma. We perfermed a ton of work on the Blue Ridge in my day. I was stationed on 3 different tenders. USS Jason (AR-8), USS Samuel Gompers (AD-37) and USS Frank Cable (AS-40)

Good luck with your gun shows and I'll come by and say hi next time it's up here in Tulsa.

I was 7th Fleet too, for my last 9 months in anyways. Ship changed homeport from 3rd Fleet. As far as crossing, we did both lines at the same time so I'm a Golden Shellback(stupid sig line place doesn't have it as an option). I even got water out of one of our cooling skids and sealed it in a bottle when we crossed. And the ceremony is probably not as PC as you might think, depends on the crew, and if you are willing to not ***** out.

The 7th Fleet probably saved my bacon and that of others. We were pinned down in a bad firefight, when the battleship NJ brought the 20" guns into the fight.
Impressive accuracy considering it wasn't "smart" and they were 10 miles out in the ocean in rough seas.

My son-in-law is in the Navy. It would be insulting for anybody to call him a liar about his service. Of course anybody who questions your integrity like that is garbage and not worth losing any sleep over. You know the truth and you can rest assured that there are plenty of people like myself who are very grateful for what you have done for this country.
