You guys seem to forget that in that text, he equates reasoning with persuasion. He uses the word persuasion in multiple forms, multiple times. Everything listed from money to bats*** insanity is a form of persuasion. The insanity, itself, persuades the individual to do whatever it is he or she is doing.
