Depending on amount of fill needed; IF any bridge work is being done nearby, they could be very interested in having a place to dump.

I had a badger burrow into the base of my pond. Heavy rain, pond filled to max and dam washed out. Crew was replacing a bridge, just down the road.
Had a conversation, gave them access, they rebuilt my dam, better than ever.
Saved them $thousands, cost me $0.

If the ditches in your area need rebuilt, contact the county commissioner and explain the ditch situation and tell them you have a place to dump the spoil they remove.
We did that at one of our farms, getting over 100 dump truck loads delivered free to fill in a low area prone to standing water.
My tractor with front loader got quite the workout!

Do you have plenty of room behind the backstop with no houses? I’ve seen a couple backyard berms before that I found to be quite unsafe… situations where if a bullet sailed over the berm something terrible could happen.

If possible, get ahold of a skid steer and dig down a bit at an angle then pile up a huge berm at the end of the scrape. Go 25yds and hang steel at an angle!
Yes. The whole property is on a slope, and any shots which happen to make it beyond the stop will end up on the opposite slope. There isn't another house for about 2000 yds, and 2 hills over on the far side. It would also pass over a county dirt road behind the property, but at an elevation at least 80' over the road. (And that might as well be a private drive, because there's only one house back under, and nothing else on the road.

The red line is the estimated lane of fire, and the X is where it would strike.
