AK 47 Kit build

So I have a AK 47 build kit with head spaced barrel and all the other parts minus the receiver. I’m needing this built for a friend of mine. I haven’t a clue which receiver as the options are quite lengthy. Just wanting it to be a functional rifle when completed nothing fancy. Help

May I suggest Blackbush Armory in Sand Springs.
Tom is top notch and can help you get it built correctly.
As for receivers, I'd choose a Childers, but Tom will know for sure.

Sounds good. Hopefully it's a Polish or Romy kit. I've got a buddy that might have rivets left over from the last build he did. You'll need a few USA made parts to make it compliant. I think the trigger/hammer, gas piston, grip, maybe slant brake/muzzle brake are the only parts you'll need to change to be 922r compliant. There's probably someone on here that's more knowledgeable that can add to the discussion.

Afaik, 922R was only supposed to apply to importers, I've heard people throw that rule around for a long time.

I'm sure a FFL builder possibly won't touch it without the correct amount of compliance parts to do the build though.
