During a voter registration drive one time, I registered a woman who said she tried to vote before but the ballot was too confusing.

Amen. I overheard a conversation at work the other day that just made me cringe....Three older folks, all in their late 50's, early 60's, talking about the election.

Lady #1: "I'm interested in voting for Romney but I can't"
Lady #2: "Why not?"
Lady #1: "I'm registered as a Democrat".
Guy: "Oh, that's right. You'd have to change your party registration to vote for him then huh?".
Lady #2: "Oh yeah, I think you have until Friday to change that so you can vote for him."

The next sound was my head exploding.

2 years ago I wouldn't have believed the above but I've heard the same conversation a number of times in the last few months and no amount of intervention corrects the belief.

so we're not just a nation of idiots but one of DOOMED idiots.

And to add to the original post if you have not voted since the last presidential you are not registered in the state of OK! I find it interesting the north Tulsans(sp?) are driving each other and car load to register.
