Most the time I buy it's free shipping and no tax. Beats local every time, but I only buy bulk. No cost this savings in shipping a few boxes at a time. Last order was 5K 9mm, 2K 556, and 400 6.5 Creed.

I have a gas sipper, 17 Kia Soul (wifes choice, not mine). At 28-30 mpg, Academy is 4 miles, that works out to roughly $.84 per round trip. That's if I go out just to get ammo. And I never buy just one type, usually I'm getting the three calibers I shoot, so that could be divided between all three, so roughly $.28 per caliber.

Like I say, I don't live in the city close to the big stores so it helps average my costs out just to have my ammo delivered from SG to my front door instead of driving. Fast delivery and no screwups on my orders so far. (Knock on wood)

Keep in mind that with the recent SCOTUS ruling, Oklahoma is now allowed to charge sales tax on out-of-state mail-order purchases, so those purchases are about to get a little pricier.

I would not be at all surprised to see local retail prices go up just a bit in response, either.
