That is disappointing, I hope the officers’ recover fully. I don’t know what to think about the P320 discharges. Anecdotally, I’ve owned, EDC’d an M18 (using the manual frame mounted safety) for several years without incident. Also a full sized, slick side M17, competing in several local matches and training classes with no unplanned discharges. Working from OWB kydex holsters. Single anecdotal stories don’t mean much, I know. Other than catching the holstered pistol on a narrow chair armrest, as I sat down, I haven’t banged it around, hitting car doors, steering wheels or dropping it, chamber loaded. No rough treatment. I have changed EDC to a S&W M&P 2.0 9MM, when I found how well the factory textured grip, and circumference fit my hand. The Smiths’ frame mounted safety is very familiar to an old 1911 shooter.

TX has had a rash of such, but, last I heard, neither OKC or the OHP have had any problems.
Does this still hold true? If a defect, its numbers of discharges should proportionally mirror numbers of guns in service and not mirror state lines or certain areas. Well, let me amend that...it COULD happen that a certain production batch for a large order had some defect, but still with bleed thru to other contracts.

Personally, I hate striker fired pistols. I have owned a G17 and still own a G43, the 43 only still around as a winter coat pocket gun which otherwise lives in the car 365 and can be ignored without rusting, Glocks are good for that, a gun to ignore.

The striker must have enough pre-load to fire. Which makes no sense to me. Seems it would be similar to lengthening the cruciform tail on a Glock. Which would shorten the trigger pull but make it unsafe. Although the FPB would still work. Hard to believe sig could make something with that issue.
