Has anybody heard if any of the proposed gun ban legislation would affect our ability to own sound suppressors?
I just executed an NFA trust with a pretty knowledgeable lawyer (props to the OSA community for recommending Matt Winton). He's not aware of any attention being paid specifically to NFA items at the moment.
My gut is that in the short term, they're going to be left alone, since--by their very nature as stringently registered firearms (in the eyes of the ATF, a silencer is a whole "firearm")--NFA arms are closer to the intentions of the current administration than assault rifles (whatever the hell THAT means) are.
In the long term, all bets are off, since apparently the "new normal" is that scary looking=dangerous.

That is my understanding. In todays dollars that would be about $3,200. A bit pricey but still technically "Legal". What a joke.

Blame Hollywood for this. He probably thinks they are readily available and used in crimes daily...just nobody ever hears about it.
