I need a little help with my truck AC. I bought a can of refrigerant to charge my system but for the life of me I can not find the freakin service port on my old 94 Toyota pickup and the truck is not worth taking into the shop. Our other cars, no problem but the one that will not cool is well hidden. If anyone in the Edmond area works on these things I would pay you a few bucks to loop by and help me find it.

If memory serves me correct it is over by the passenger inner fender toward the firewall, the a/c line is aluminum and has a rubber section in it, the service fitting is in the aluminum part. If that doesnt work then find the metal tube a/c lines that go through the firewall into the evaporator. There should be a small line and a big line, follow the bigger line from the firewall back to the a/c compressor, somewhere on the bigger line you should find the low side service fitting.

It is official, there is no service port on this sucker. I guess when I had to converted to R134a years ago they changed some lines and left it out. I guess I will have to take it in as much as I hate to spend the money on this old sucker.

Thanks for all the help folks.

That is strange to not find a low side service port, it may still have the R12 style fitting though, some people use the R134 adapters to service the system then take the adapters off when done, maybe thats what somebody did? The a/c system can be serviced through the high side only but you would almost have to have an a/c machine, plus diagnosing the system would be pretty difficult without knowing the low side pressure.
