It says Telephone on the outside of the box. It may be your entire telephone trunk line too. I'd open it up and get a pic of inside. If it's the phone or network line I'd leave it alone. Phone lines are always hot (small voltage) and network lines are still used due to file sizes getting larger and larger, unless your house is very small (1000 sq ft or so)

This is my forte. Do you have a wired home telephone?

Are you getting AT&T internet?

with phone?

with Uverse TV or Direct TV?

If you can say no to the wired home phone, get rid of it if it bothers you that much.

Nope. Only getting fiber internet from Grid SW I think it’s called. Nothing else. I have no problem pulling the box off and just leaving the wires in the wall but I don’t know how to get rid of the coax running down into the blue pipe into the foundation

Lineman’s pliers work wonders on copper cable. As noted above, if you know where it comes out from under the foundation on its way to the Cox pedestal, you can dig it out and pull the cable out from under the house, but I wouldn’t worry about it.

Otherwise, pull on it from the box end and cut it as close to the hole on the concrete as possible, then shove the remainder into the hole and plug it.
