The first time I saw this gun I knew I wanted it. Now having shot it I'm in love. I saw a post from 2021 with some YouTube links to reviews of the HCAR, of which there aren't many, but other than that not much seems to be out there about this rifle.

For those not familiar it is a modernized BAR. Some highlights:
-The 16" gun weighs about 11.75 pounds instead of the original 19.25lbs
-Updated rails, adjustable stock, magazine, and bolt release. Basically all the ergos.
- Updated buffer system taken from the M240B to handle the heaviest round loads and it is fully redesigned to be straight back rather than the 12-degree angle the BAR had which impacted muzzle rise
-30 round mags (still in 30-06) that run flawlessly
-Just a beautiful trigger (they obviously had to completely redesign that given it fires from a closed bolt)
-1 MOA accuracy
-Adjustable gas system (suppressed, regular, adverse)

The only con I am about to fix is that firing a 16" 30-06 with a muzzle brake (while extremely low recoiling with the new buffer system) makes me want to die indoors. Since it has an adjustable gas system I went out and bought a Deadair Nomad 30 and their flash hider quick attach muzzle device. Once the can is approved I'll get the muzzle device on and send the gun off for a cerakote paint job because black guns are just boring these days.

I don't know if this is the light, sling mount, and optic combo I will keep but it's what I am running on it for now.

Anyway, just a cool gun from a parallel universe where the BAR stayed in service and kept getting updated.

If you ever need 20 round magazines, I've got a case of new ones still in the wrapper.

Haven't heard Daewoo mentioned in a long minute. It does sorta kinda remind of one, but that illusion gone on trying to pick up that sucker, where humping the M14 was not a walk in the park, nor any part of ma duece and ammo for her...the M16 and A1 was more like it for actual slogging and deeply resented the A2 when it fielded...until real shooting started, and the heaviest then everybody's fave best friend forever.
