I see many seller here that require ID and require blah blah blah. I've even stated certain requirements in a few of my sales.
When it comes down to it, i personally avoid those FTF sales that require a copy of my info. I have no problem signing a bill of sale as long as the seller lets me see his info and also writes the SAME DL or CCW info on a bill of sale. But, i am NOT giving a copy of that info up.
FFL is OK

This! Just follow state law period! Ask the two questions and move on.

Here is a situation that happened 5 years ago when I went to selling off several out of my collection.

On the Glock Boxes I used to draw a black arrow upwards on the snap latches to denote to open them with all the paper work in the lid. “”Note photo below.”” It was a weird thing I did.

I sold a Gen4 G19 new to a gent, met him and when at the meeting place he and another gent got out of the truck, as I got close to them I asked who was buying the pistol, then I asked if he was of age and was he legally allowed to buy such a weapon in Oklahoma. Here is where it turned strange. They both looked at each other and the expressions changed. He turned and stated a quick Yes to both questions, did not even look at the pistol, handed me the cash and walked away. The look when I asked the two questions showed who they were.

Not two days later the pistol was on Armslist again for sale. I knew it was the same pistol I just sold. So I responded to the ad via message from my wifes email. They responded with meet at FFL, I said nope no way. They came back and said no problem they would meet. They asked where and I stated BassPro. Went to meet them and picked up a friend to do the meet and to drive his truck as I thought they might recognize my truck and I. Pulled in and it was two different gents in the same truck! So I got out to meet em and had my friend get out to just witness.

When I got out they both got out and walked towards me, they handed me the same Glock Pistol I had just sold two days before. As I was looking inside the Glock Box they started in with questions, why not want to meet at a FFL? Would I sign a Bill of Sale and show my Drivers License. I said no that I will answer the two required state questions I am to answer, again they looked at each other and one shook his head like he was pissed. They never asked the two questions.

I handed the Glock back to them and stated I would pass, made an excuse it was too big for what I needed. They then started in on more questions about buying guns. I looked at them both, shook my head and walked away.

I tell everyone I know that buys and sells in their collection to ask those two questions, and if you ever so slightly think a person is underage to ask for drivers license.
