In this case, I’d ask the buyer to bring a parent or other responsible adult to vouch for the sale. My mom bought me my first handgun at 18 (with my money).
Why have mommy there if he’s in the military, 19-21 yo (state law), or just looks young.
And a bunch not mentally old enough. 😎
Working in gun shops I met plenty of people in the 18-? aged people not mentally sound enough to transfer a handgun or revolver, much else voting.

A dealer can refuse a sale just like a private seller can refuse a sell based on anything really. A buyer isn’t obligated to buy either at the meet-up if they feel sketchy. I guess it really comes down to if you feel sketched out walk away.

This is true

The OP was entirely in his right to refuse sale.

The buyer was attempting a legal purchase.

I don't believe he should be banned, but I support the OP in his right of refusal, for whatever reason.

I HAVE made sales to under 21 buyers, that I knew. I have also, refused a sale to those I felt uncomfortable with.

I may not know where that red flag came from or why, but I learned to pay attention when it waves.
Winner… there it is. I refused to sell to a member that stated he would not present ID and would not do a bill of sale.

I see many seller here that require ID and require blah blah blah. I've even stated certain requirements in a few of my sales.
When it comes down to it, i personally avoid those FTF sales that require a copy of my info. I have no problem signing a bill of sale as long as the seller lets me see his info and also writes the SAME DL or CCW info on a bill of sale. But, i am NOT giving a copy of that info up.
FFL is OK
