Oh man, finally! 8 days seemed like forever. I had a shop order it instead of ordering it myself, they matched what I could get it for and it’s important to support local ffl’s too! Hats off to the guys at DR Gun Supply.

Got some ammo for the shotgun from an old friend from Colorado (who I haven't seen in 15+ years) who spotted me at the gun show. Double score...ammo and seeing an old friend.

And, I the Colt retro scope arrived. If anyone's wondering, these are WAY better than the originals in almost every way.

Well I doubled down,,,
More like quadrupled down on ammo.

The way I'm progressing in my recuperation,,,
I don't think I'll be able to hit the range this winter,,,
So I decided to do an ammo inventory and see where I am.

Then I sat down and tried to make an accurate estimate,,,
Of how much I shoot up in a years time,,,
Then I compared those numbers.

Then I looked at my "new gun/ammo fund",,,
And added the current saved amount,,,
To what I would spend this winter.

Basically I have decided that I could afford one big ammunition purchase,,,
Which will stock me up for at least three years of range trips,,,
Or indefinitely if I replace what I shoot every month or so.

The actual dollar amount I've spent over the last two weeks totals just under $2,000.00,,,
This is the largest expenditure I've made for anything in years except for a car,,,
My hand was shaking a bit when I clicked the "Submit Order" button.

But now I have (or I will have upon delivery) enough ammunition,,,
To last me for many years at my normal consumption rate,,,
Or a lot longer if I must become a frugal shooter.

I'm not rich by any means,,,
I'm retired on a fixed moderate income,,,
But I do budget well and therefore have a "cushion" for this.

Now it's just waiting for that UPS driver to show up,,,
Today I'll organize some space in my closet ammo shelves.
